Eugene, OR — VersaLogic Corp. today announced the market launch of a Windows CE Board Support Package (BSP) for their GX 500-based PC/104-Plus board, the Puma. The BSP allows developers to configure their systems quickly and develop applications in a shorter time frame. The new BSP is used with Microsoft's Platform Builder 5.0 to install Windows CE on the Puma. The package provides support for basic functions including Ethernet, audio, video, USB ports and serial ports.
The Puma, an AMD GX 500 single board computer, features a highly reliable design and very low power draw. It is RoHS compatible. Target markets include medical, avionics, and security / homeland defense.
Tom Barnum, VersaLogic's Vice President of Sales states, “We know that developers would rather be spending their time working on their application development than configuring the operating system. Anything VersaLogic can do to make development smoother and faster is a benefit to our customers.”
VersaLogic offers BSP support for many of their embedded computer models and various operating systems, including VxWorks, Linux and Windows CE 5.0.
The new BSP is available from the VersaLogic website as a no-cost download. Visit www.VersaLogic.com/Software for downloads. For additional information, contact VersaLogic Corp. at (541) 485-8575 or info@VersaLogic.com, or visit their on-line catalog at www.VersaLogic.com.
